Summerfield gave us two homes in one month that could hardly be more different. All Waste Dumpsters picked up a box full of pine logs beside a newer house on a wooded street on June 8, then set a clean container in the driveway of a formal, landscaped home on June 30. Same town, same month, very different days.
One job was about weight. The other was about getting a steel box past a front yard full of clipped shrubs without touching any of them. Both are typical for the south end of Marion County, where new construction on wooded lots sits a few miles from established neighborhoods off US 441 and County Road 42, and The Villages is a short drive away. We run these jobs from our yard in Ocala, and you can read more about our dumpster rental in Summerfield on its own page. Here is how both jobs went.
How do you place a dumpster at a home with formal landscaping?
Summerfield, FL
Residential drop off and pickup
June 2026
Carefully, on the driveway, with the hook arm clear of the trees and every shrub left alone. At the June 30 drop, the driver backed up the drive and set the container beside the paver walkway, well away from the boxwoods and the horse statue out front.
A home like this is where our equipment pays for itself. Hook lift trucks can set a container in a tighter, more exact spot than older cable trucks, so the box lands where the homeowner points instead of wherever the truck happens to fit. The approach still takes planning. A raised arm passes close to eaves and ornamental trees, and a formal bed can lose a shrub to one wrong turn of the wheel. We ask about sprinkler heads along the drive, too.
Boards go under the front of the container on concrete and pavers. They keep the steel off the surface. If your neighborhood has an association, our article on HOA dumpster rules around Ocala is worth reading before delivery.
Can a dumpster full of logs be too heavy to pick up?
It can, which is why tree work needs a size and weight conversation before the box arrives. The June 8 container was loaded with cut pine trunks and limbs, heavy wood that uses up the weight limit faster than the space.
Green pine holds a lot of water. A few trunk sections can weigh more than a whole box of brush, so a container that looks half full may already be close to its limit. Our 10, 15, and 20 yard containers are rated for roughly 1, 1.5, and 2 tons. Lay trunks flat along the floor and fill the gaps with limbs. Spreading the weight from end to end helps the truck pull the box on smoothly.
This container sat on the asphalt at the edge of the road, next to a wooded lot, rather than in a driveway. Once a box goes on or beside a street, permits can come into it. Check with the county first, and see what Ocala residents need to know about dumpster permits.

What should Summerfield homeowners know before booking?
Check your association rules, pick a spot the truck can reach, and tell us what is going in. Those three steps prevent most problems on a residential rental.
Summerfield mixes association communities with rural lots, and the rules differ between them. Some associations limit how long a container can stay or where it can sit, so ask before delivery instead of after a letter shows up. Rural lots have the opposite issue: plenty of room, but soft sand and long unpaved drives. Take a short walk with the truck in mind. Is the drive wide enough? Are there low limbs? Is the ground dry?
Then think about the load. Tree debris, roofing, and concrete are heavy, while household cleanouts and furniture are bulky, and knowing which one you have is how we get the size right the first time.
